The Coloma Elementary staff will provide a learning environment where all students have the opportunity to succeed.
Personal Philosophy
I believe reading is the key to success in all academic areas. Students need to be able to read and understand math problems, informational text, and fictional literature. Reading exposes students to proper sentence structure, increases vocabulary, and adds to background knowledge.
In addition, I strongly feel that students need to be given tools to direct their own learning. When taught how and where to access information, and how to evaluate that information, students learn to rely on themselves. They become more confident in their skills and in themselves.
